Happy 2018 to our new and returning members and friends! As we start this New Year I'd like to remind you of our charter:
SVAFP, a non-profit professional association, dedicated to serving the needs of treasury and finance professional members at all stages of their career by providing services in networking, education, and career development.
2018 Board Members
I'm honored to announce the SVAFP Board Members for 2018 and to welcome three new Board members – Sean Panchal, Jessie Takahashi and Patrick Mun. This team of highly talented individuals brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience that gives a leading edge to the SVAFP and its constituents.
● Vice President – Sean Panchal, Financial Officer at First Maganson Holdings, Inc.
● Treasurer - Shannon Alwyn, Sr. Global Treasury Manager at Netflix
● Secretary – Jessie Takahashi, Lead Treasury Analyst at Intuit
● Speaker Chair - Patrick Mun, Vice President at Bank of the West
● Communications Chair – Jeanne Castro Schmidt, President at Treasury Management Solutions (non-voting member)
● Membership Chair - Peter Morris, Treasury Consultant(non-voting member)
We have a number of exciting programs and events planned for 2018, many of which continue long-standing SVAFP traditions. I hope you continue to take advantage of the many opportunities that are available, including 8 fantastic meetings in 2017 on topics relevant to the Treasury/Finance profession. Besides offering educational sessions that provide CTP credits, those same meetings also provided FP&A credits.
Adding Extra Meeting in 2018
While keeping our membership prices unchanged, we are adding a 9th meeting this year! Please check out our new meeting schedule. Through efficient budget management and adding a lower cost venue, we are able to offer more to our members this year.
Corporate Membership Incentive
We are offering 10% off for the second and every additional Corporate Transferable membership purchased this year. This offer expires at the end of February 2018 so please take advantage of this unique, one time offer and gain the opportunity to have more than one team member join at our meetings.
As in the past, an Individual membership belongs to an Individual and can only be used by that person. The Corporate Transferable membership is designated in the name of the company and can be used by any employee of the company. We believe that the two membership types offer flexible and affordable cost options for members in different stages of their careers and employment status.
We will continue to have lunch meetings at Michaels at Shoreline in Mountain View. The conference style venues provide a professional environment with great lunch menus and help the SVAFP meet its sustainable budget goal with their reasonable pricing and easy parking. We welcome feedback and ideas from members on convenient and quality locations so that we can add an additional venue for our lunch meetings.
We will continue to offer select meetings and additional content on the podcast Treasury On the Gowhich can be found at TreasuryontheGo.com or through iTunes, Google Play Music, and Stitcher.
I would like to thank our loyal members who have been attending our meetings regularly and supporting the SVAFP over the years. While we appreciate all the guests who participate in our monthly functions, our success as an organization relies heavily on your membership. Members are the only persons who can provide guidance to the Board; as a member you can take advantage of the members-only benefits we offer including reduced pricing for meeting attendance, access to CTP credits for the podcasts, and special promotions which we will roll out during the year. Joining early in the year also helps us to set and manage our budget in a professional manner. If you haven’t already joined us, we’d like to take another opportunity to invite you to do so by clicking here.
